Naval, Biliran—

A newly identified drug dealer of suspected Marijuana was apprehended by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of Biliran Provincial Police Office, the local Station drug Enforcement Team and PDEA after selling a sachet containing dried leaf suspected to be Marijuana to an operative during a buy bust operation about 5: 20 in the afternoon on Tuesday (Nov 23) at Sitio Lupa, Brgy. Calumpang, Naval, Biliran.

PDEU Chief Police Major Chamberline Ludevise, identified the suspect as Barry Balansag, a.ka. “Dan-dan”, 30, with live-in partner, jobless, a resident of Brgy Mabini, Higatangan Island, Naval, Biliran.

Recovered from his possession of the suspect was one zip lock transparent plastic sachet containing color green-brown dried leaves suspected to be marijuana procured by an operative in the amount of P500. During a body search conducted in front of Barangay Officials and Representatives from Media and DOJ, the searching cop recovered from the pocket of the suspect black wallet containing cash money in different denominations amounting to P1,620 which is believed to be proceeds from selling the illegal drug, but no other evidences was recovered from the suspect. Also recovered from the suspect was one pc P500 bill bearing serial number FV036770 which is a court subscribed money intended to be used in the operation.

The suspect denied owning the evidence presented by the police to the witnesses.

Charges of violation of RA 9165, the Comprehensive Law against Illegal Drugs of 2002 is being readied by the police against the arrested suspect who is temporarily detained at the Naval Police Station.
