NAVAL, Biliran (BDEO) – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)- Biliran District Engineering Office (DEO) completes 82 of 108 infrastructure projects under its 2021 Regular Infrastructure Program.

The district office achieved 83.96% accomplishment of its 2021 implementation with only 26 projects on-going as of December 31, 2021.

The Construction of Naval Diversion Road (Riverside to Provincial Hospital) is on-going with 75% accomplishment as of December 31, 2021. This is a multiyear project from FY 2021-FY 2022.

 

Biliran DEO has recently completed three high impact projects for the month of December, 2021. Two of these are the Construction of Level III Water Supply System in the towns of Almeria and Caibiran amounting to P29.9-M and P39.7-M, respectively and one is the Road widening project along Biliran Circumferential Road, Brgy. Tomalistis in Caibiran town worth P48.6-M.

 

District Engineer Ferdinand A. Briones reveals that theP38.1-M Construction of Level III Water Supply System in the town of Kawayan is almost completed with 95% accomplishment as of December 31, 2021.

 

Moreover, on-going road widening projects in Brgy. Jamorawon in the town of Almeria and Brgy. Balite-Masagaosao in the town of Kawayan along with the two on-going bridge widening projects in Brgy. Moog and Brgy. Busali, both in Biliran town are now being fast-tracked for completion, target to be completed before the 2nd quarter of 2022 ends.

 

DE Briones also reported that the first phase for the Construction of Naval Diversion Road (Riverside to Provincial Hospital) amounting to P47.4-M is now 75% completed. 

 

Various on-going infrastructure projects funded under local program are also continuously being monitored to ensure standards and specifications are being met.These projects include the construction of access roads, flood control structures, multipurpose buildings, concreting of barangay roads, drainages and seawalls.

 

Under FY 2021, DPWH-Biliran DEO has a total allocation of 1.77-B for the implementation of 108 infra projects. This office is tasked to maintain a total of 151.245-kilometer of national roads with 35 bridges.
