Habal-habal driver yield shabu during buy bust

Kawayan, Biliran— A habal-habal driver yielded one sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu during a buy bust operation conducted by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of Biliran Provincial Police Office and the Station Drug Enforcement Team of the local police station about 4:17 in the afternoon on Friday (Apr 29) in Brgy Masagaosao, Kawayan, Biliran.

Kawayan COP Police Lt. Ismael Corzon identified the suspect as Mariel Aljo a.k.a Maye, 36, single, habal-habal driver, and resident of Brgy Kansanoc, Kawayan, Biliran. The suspect is tagged by the local police as a Newly Identified drug peddler and a Street Level Individual.

Recovered from his possession was one sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu procured by an operative in the amount of P500. During body search in front of elected Barangay Officials and media, the searching team failed to recover more illegal drugs from his possession but a P500 bill bearing serial number RE758063 which is a court subscribed money intended for the buy bust operation. Also recovered from the suspect was one lighter color green and cash money amounting to P88 in different denominations.

Charges of violation of RA 9165 the Comprehensive Law against Illegal Drugs of 2002 was already filed at the Provincial Prosecutors Office in Naval, Biliran against the suspect who is temporarily detained at the Kawayan MPS.
