DPWH- BDEO Biliran

A total of P61-M worth of Farm to Market Road (FMR) projects has been completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways- Biliran District Engineering Office (BDEO) under the 2021 Department of Agriculture (DA) funding.

District Engineer (DE) Ferdinand A. Briones said that BDEO has completed five out of six FMR projects with a total length of 3.432-kilometer.

The completed projects are located at Brgy. Marvel in Culaba town, Brgy. Salawad in Cabucgayan town, Brgy. P.S. Eamiguel and Brgy. Libtong to Brgy. Cabungaan, both in Naval town and Brgy. Tabunan, Almeria to Sitio Tadloy, Brgy. Masagongsong, in Kawayan town.

Meanwhile, the concreting of one FMR project at Brgy. Imelda in Naval town is still on-going. This project has a contract amount of 24.3-M with a length of 690 meters.

With these completed projects, farmers can have safer and faster transport of their agricultural products to the market centers as well as provide convenient travel for the residents.

The presence of these FMR projects help reduce transportation cost, thereby giving farmers an opportunity to earn more.

  1. It would be great if the road from the national highway to Bantilan could be widened throughout and fixed for the farmers in those areas, as its in a deplorable state with many 20 ton trucks using it daily as well as hundreds of other vehicles.
    Also a message to the new Biliran Biliran Mayor.
    The antiquated water system running directly alongside this road is constantly for many years getting leaks fixed with rubber inner tubes almost weekly. How about some new all weather piping that is badly needed to service the many new homes being, and are about to be built alongside the said road with many lots recently being sold.
