The Department of Public Works and Highways – Biliran District Engineering Office remains to be one of the top performing District Engineering Offices (DEOs), holding the second largest in terms of Absorptive Capacity (AC) and third in Disbursement Ratio (DR), out of the 14 DEOs, including the Regional Office for the month of May 2022.
District Engineer Ferdinand A. Briones said that BDEO exceeded the 66% target rate for AC in the month of May, beating the target with 28.87% margin.
According to DE Briones, BDEO remains to be 2nd largest in Absorptive Capacity totaling 94.87% and 3rd in Disbursement Ratio with 28.38% Regionwide.
Under the Absorptive Capacity criterion, BDEO is followed by Southern Leyte DEO with 93.53%, Northern Samar 2nd DEO with 93.21%, Northern Samar 1st DEO with 92.30% and Tacloban DEO with 90.73% while under the Disbursement Ratio Criterion, BDEO is followed by Samar 1st DEO with 26.03% and Leyte 3rd DEO with 25.11%.
DE Briones added that the office is expected to maintain an increasing trend of growth in terms of disbursement ratio for the months to follow.
Meanwhile, Mr. Michael O. Mataganas, Chief of Finance Section emphasizes that as long as the project implementation of the district office is accelerated, the Office can sustain the growth and still manage to exceed the target for the forthcoming periods. (egn/bdeo)
