Almeria, Biliran— Continued drug operations by the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of the local police resulted in the arrest of a construction worker that yielded three sachets of suspected shabu during a buy bust operation about 8:50 in the evening on Wednesday (Sept 21) at Villa Abrea Brgy. Jamorawon, of this town.
Almeria COP Police Lt. Edwin Simbajon identified the suspect as John Martin Daño, 24, with live-in partner a resident of the said place.
Recovered from his possession was one sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu procured by the operative in the amount of P500. During the conduct of body search in front of barangay officials and representatives from the National Prosecutors Services, the searching cop recovered a candy wrapper that when opened contained two more sachets containing white crystalline substances suspected to be shabu with an estimated value of P1000 and also recovered one piece P500.00 bill bearing serial number RE610920 which is a court subscribed money intended for the operation and one blue lighter.
No statement was given by the suspect when asked by an elected official about the recovered items from his body.
Charges of violations of RA 9165, the Comprehensive Law against Illegal Drugs of 2002 are being readied by the arresting police against the suspect who is temporarily detained at the locked up cell of Almeria MPS.
