DPWH Biliran
As the Philippines being predominantly a catholic nation, with filial love and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, DPWH-Biliran Deo celebrates the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Mother with the Holy Mass held in the Chapel of DPWH-BDEO at 8:00 in the morning on September 8, 2022.
The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary or the Birth of the Virgin Mary, refers to a Christian feast day for the Catholics, celebrating the birth of Mary, mother of Jesus. In order to give full meaning to the occasion, it has become a necessity that all devotees will be given the opportunity to participate in the event. That is why, a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary was enthroned at the Biliran-DEO as each section was given a schedule to pray the holy rosary.
Fr. Cornelio Amante Jr. initiated the homily devotion while the novena was led by Ms. Lucidita Regis, HRMO of DPWH-BDEO.
A handful of devotees in the DPWH-BDEO are dedicated in rejoicing the nativity of the blessed Virgin Mary, because it is intimately associated with Jesus’ birth. St. John the Baptist, was born to announce the coming of our Lord, while Virgin Mary was born to bear Jesus in her womb and give birth. If John the Baptist was born to market the Good News, Mary was born to deliver the Good News!
