Naval, Biliran— A sales boy in one of the dry goods merchants selling their goods here in connection with the town’s fiesta celebration was found lifeless in their tent about 11:30 in the morning of Tuesday (Oct 4) at Brgy. P. I. Garcia, of the capital town of Biliran.

Naval COP Police Major Ryan Delima identified the deceased as Edwin Libutan, 23, single, salesboy, a resident of Ridgeview Village, Brgy Cabalawan, Tacloban City.

The police said that a certain Manily Pedralvez, 35 years old, single, RTW/ Dry goods vendor and a resident of Brgy 74, Naga-naga, Tacloban City reported to their station that a lifeless body of a male person when found lying flat on his belly facing down on the ground beside a folding bed at the RTW/Dry goods stall owned by Charito De Asis. The local police immediately responded to the place where the alleged lifeless body was found and upon arrival at the area, the responding police officers noted that the victim was already lying on top of the folding bed and was already covered with a blanket and seemed to be lifeless.

The responding police that conducted an initial investigation disclosed that there were no signs of struggle nor external physical injuries indicative of a foul play noted on the victim`s cadaver. The victim’s cadaver was later brought to the RHU for post mortem examination conducted by Dr. Ralph Bueno, Naval RHU MO, whose result showed that the victim may have suffered from an Acute Myocardial Infarction which caused the sudden death of said victim.

Acute Myocardial Infarction indicates irreversible myocardial injury resulting in necrosis of a significant portion of myocardium. – BiliranIsland.com
