Cop and back rider died in road mishap

Biliran, Biliran— A policeman and his back rider were killed after they were run over by a passenger van about 5:40 in the afternoon yesterday Saturday, October 15, along the National Highway of Brgy. Bato, of this town.

Case investigator Police Master Sergeant Franklin Queipo in a telephone interview said that the victims were on board a Honda Click motorcycle color black and blue combination with temporary plate no. 0828-02729999 on its way to Biliran proper while the two other vehicles were traversing going to the capital town of Naval, Biliran.

Sergeant Queipo continued that as misfortune continued to hit the two riders of the single motorcycle the driver of the passenger van who was tailing the Mitsubishi Expander failed to stop his vehicle and in the process ran over the two fallen motorcycle riders. The responding police also recovered the service firearm of the fallen cop along the highway.

Responding police that went to the accident area found the two victims still under the passenger van lifeless.
