Another Caneja to join his sibling in jail

Naval, Biliran— Five sachets containing white crystalline substances were recovered by operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of the local police and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of Biliran Provincial Police Office from a drug peddler during a buy bust operation about 11:29 in the evening on Monday, Dec 5, in Brgy Santissimo Rosario here.

Naval COP Police Major Chamberline B. Ludevise identified the arrested suspect as Erwin Caneja y Ang, a.k.a. Erwax, 33, jobless, with live-in partner and resident of Brgy. Santissimo Rosario, Naval, Biliran. The suspect is listed as Street Level Individual drug personality of Biliran Provincial Police Office,

Recovered from the possession of the suspect was one sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu procured by an operative in the amount P500. During a body search in front of Barangay Officials and representatives from the National Prosecutors Office the searching cop recovered four more plastic sachets containing white crystalline substances suspected to be shabu with an estimated value of P2000. Also recovered from the suspect was P815 cash in different denominations of which one pc P500 bill bearing serial number SV550177 was a court subscribed money intended for the buy bust operation and one color yellow disposable lighter.

The suspect is a sibling of Harold Caneja, who is presently incarcerated at the Biliran Provincial Jail after he was arrested for the same offense earlier this year.

Charges of violations of RA 9165, the Comprehensive Law against Illegal Drugs of 2002 was already filed at the Provincial Prosecutors office against the suspect who is languishing at the locked-up cell of Naval MPS.
