NAVAL, Biliran (BDEO) – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)- Biliran District Engineering Office (DEO) recently completed the P24-M Farm-Market Road (FMR) project at Brgy. Imelda in Naval town.

District Engineer (DE) Ferdinand A. Briones, who has just been reinstated as DE after his sick leave of absence, said that this project is expected to improve the living condition of the residents and farmers of Brgy. Imelda by means of transport and commerce.

The said project involves the road opening and concreting of 1.2-kilometer two lane road with a construction of drainage.

“The completion of this new road means a cheaper fare and a safer and faster transport of farm-produced products to the market center,” said DE Briones.

DE Briones said that this project is implemented under its 2021 Department of Agriculture (D.A) funding that was started on June 27, 2021 and was completed on November 08, 2022.

Meanwhile, another road concreting project was also implemented by DPWH-Biliran DEO at Brgy. Imelda. This project is the P23-M construction of access road leading to Imelda Falls which involves the road concreting of 0.97-kilometer road including drainage and slope protection.

According to DE Briones, this project is now on-going with 72% accomplishment as of November 30, 2022. From its start date on February 21, 2022, this project has a target completion date on January 27, 2023.

“The completion of this project will provide a safer and faster access for tourists to visit Imelda Falls and residents will also enjoy a convenient travel.,” said DE Briones.
