Cabucgayan, Biliran— An alleged Rank 8 in the regional level drug personality and a High Valued Individual were apprehended by the Station Drug Enforcement Team of the local police during a buy-bust operation at about 6:40 in the evening on Friday, Feb 10, in Brgy Salawad here.
The police identified the suspect as Raphael Sarsalejo, 24, single, a resident of Brgy. Salawad here. The suspect is listed as Regional Level Rank No. 8 and High-Value Individual on the police drug watch list.
Recovered from the possession of the suspect was one sachet containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu procured by an operative in the amount of P500. During the body search in front of a Barangay Official and a representative from the National Prosecutors Service, the searching cop recovered one more sachet suspected to be shabu with an estimated weight of .05 grams and a street value of P2000. Also recovered from the suspect was one pc P500 bill bearing serial number MT959895 which is court-subscribed money intended for the operation.
The suspect together with the confiscated evidence was brought to Cabucgayan MPS for proper disposition.
Charges of violations of RA 9165, the Comprehensive Law against Illegal Drugs of 2002 were already filed at the Provincial Prosecutors Office thru Inquest Proceedings against the suspect who is presently languishing at the detention cell of Cabucgayan MPS.
