Naval, Biliran— An alleged drug peddler from the mainland Leyte yielded an estimated 3 grams of suspected shabu placed inside 12 sachets with an estimated street value of more or less P20,000 was recovered by operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Team during a buy-bust operation at about 8:50 in the morning today Saturday, March 11, in Brgy Calumpang, of this capital town of Biliran.

The suspect was identified as Henry Rendora, 48, married, jobless, and a resident of Brgy. Pangpang, Calubian, Leyte. The suspect is listed as Street Level Individual in their drug watch list.

Recovered from the suspect were three sachets containing white crystalline substances suspected to be shabu procured by an operative in the amount of P9000. During the conduct of the body search in front of Barangay Officials and a representative from the National Prosecutors Office, the searching cop recovered nine more sachets containing the same white crystalline substances suspected of shabu, five units’ smartphones, two personal IDs (SSS and National ID), one disposable plastic lighter color violet, and one empty transparent plastic sachet.

Also recovered from the possession of the suspect was nine pcs P1000 bill of which one of the bills bears serial No. GA621353 which is court-subscribed money intended for the operation while the eight other bills are bogus money, cash amounting to P2290 in different denominations, and one black backpack marked AIR Flow.

Charges of violations of Sections 5 and 11, of Article II of R.A.9165, the Comprehensive Law against Illegal Drugs of 2002 are being readied by the arresting officers against the suspect who is temporarily detained at the locked-up cell of Naval MPS.
