NAVAL, Biliran . The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Biliran District Engineering Office (DEO) joins the nation and the province in celebration of the 2023 National Women’s Month, with a motorcade as a kick-off activity.
At least 21 Biliran DEO employees participated in the provincewide motorcade on March 01, 2023 together with other provincial and government agencies and institutions around the Province of Biliran.
The activity started at around 7:00 o’clock in the morning at the Provincial Capitol grounds passing through different municipalities around the Province.
The 2023 National Women’s Month celebration marks a juncture in the advancement of women’s rights as it launches a new recurring theme from this year to 2028: WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society.
Proclamation No. 224 s. 1988, March of every year is declared as National Women’s Month while Republic Act 6949 declared March 8 of every year as National Women’s Day. This celebration aims to highlight the empowerment of women and gender equality issues and concerns. It also marks a new era with the hope and ambition that WE are all for Gender Equality, WE are all for an Inclusive Society. (jessdelfin/bdeo)
