OIC-District Engineer Alfredo L. Bollido receives Certificate of Appreciation in behalf of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)- Biliran District Engineering Office (DEO) for unwavering support extended by the Office to Almeria National High School as Work Immersion Partner Agency of the twelve (12) Grade 12- Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) students which contributes meaningfully to the implementation of the K to 12 Program.

NAVAL. Biliran – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)- Biliran District Engineering Office (DEO) has been an active and supportive work immersion partner agency of various schools in the Province of Biliran in the implementation of the K-12 Program (Senior High School).

For the month of March, 2023, DPWH-Biliran DEO has hosted more than 30 Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) senior high school students from different schools of not less than 80 hours of immersion work.

OIC-District Engineer Alfredo L. Bollido said that the STEM students were rotated among different sections/ offices in technical operations, exposing them to the different aspects of engineering works.

“Even for a short period of time, we were able to impart adequate knowledge to these students that might help them prepare in facing the real world in the future,” said OIC-DE Bollido.

Among the schools hosted by the District Office are the Cathedral School of La Naval, Almeria National High School (ANHS) and Biliran Province State University (BiPSU), Laboratory High School.

OIC-DE Bollido said that the District Office will continually accept and welcome the next batch of senior high school students for work immersion.
