DPWH Biliran
NAVAL. Biliran – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)- Biliran District Engineering Office (DEO) employees warmly welcome its new Assistant District Engineer (ADE) in the person of Engr. Irwin L. Antonio.
Engr. Antonio officially assumed his position as ADE of Biliran DEO on February 27, 2023. ADE Antonio replaces Engr. Rosario B. Rosete as Officer In Charge (OIC)-ADE.
Engr. Rosete’s designation as OIC-ADE was concurrent with her position as the Chief of the Planning and Design Section. With the re-assignment of ADE Antonio, Engr. Rosete will revert to her position as the Chief of the Planning and Design Section.
Meanwhile, Assistant District Engineer Alfredo L. Bollido will continue with his designation as OIC-District Engineer by virtue of Special-Order No. 35 series of 2023, dated February 14, 2023 in lieu of the late District Engineer Ferdinand A. Briones.
During OIC-DE Bollido’s first staff meeting together with the new ADE, Engr. Antonio shares that his leadership style will always be well-coordinated with the District Engineer.
“I am here in Biliran to function as directed by the District Engineer related to operation. I will consistently be talking to Section Chiefs, it might be personally or might be one on one, or I might be talking directly to the person concerned so that I can get an idea on the things that need to be addressed or improved. From these, I can report to the District Engineer on what is happening at the ground level during meetings,” ADE Antonio said.
ADE Antonio also expressed his strong desire in helping Biliran DEO towards achieving a goal by emphasizing the importance of teamwork and commitment.
“In search for excellence, go stronger, go deeper, reach higher and be inspired! Be inspired towards excellence,” he said.
Prior to the re-assignment of ADE Antonio to Biliran DEO, he was formerly the Assistant District Engineer of DPWH-Leyte 4th DEO, Ormoc City, the same District Office where he roots his engineering career since 1983.
ADE Antonio started as a laborer and Civil Engineer Aide Laboratory at DPWH Leyte 4th DEO until he got promoted from Civil Engineer to Engineer II in 1989 until 2004.
In 2005, he was promoted as Engineer III and later became the OIC-Assistant District Engineer to the same DEO of the same year.
He rose his ladder of career in 2012 when he became the full-fledged ADE of Leyte 4th DEO until he was re-assigned to Biliran DEO by virtue of Special-Order No. 34 series of 2023, dated February 14, 2023.
