Caibiran, Biliran— A farmer who counters the heat of the afternoon by wading at sea was found floating lifeless at about 3:00 in the afternoon on Monday, May 1, along the seawaters of Sitio Lipata, Brgy. Binohangan, in this municipality.
The victim was identified as Alfredo Consultado, a.k.a “Beboy” 28, single, farmer, a resident of Sitio Lipata, Brgy. Binohangan here.
Caibiran Police said that Barangay Tanod Julio Samong, legal age, of Brgy. Binohangan, personally came to Caibiran MPS at about 3:45 in the afternoon on the said date and reported that he saw the lifeless body of the victim at about 3:00 in the afternoon floating along the seawater of the said place. The local police upon receipt of the said report together with the BFP Caibiran Rescue Team immediately responded to the area to verify the said report. However, the police said that upon arrival in the area at about 4:00 on the same date, the responding team learned that the victim was already removed from the place of the incident and brought by his cousins and neighbors to the house of his sister Jenilyn Consultado near the shoreline.
Moreover, the responding police learned that the victim was brought by relatives to Caibiran RHU but was Dead on Arrival by Dr. Dionesio B Plaza, Attending Physician/Municipal Health Officer.
The cause of death according to Post Mortem Examination was drowning. Meanwhile based on the records of Brgy. Binohangan Barangay Health Workers the victim had a history of epilepsy and high blood pressure and was given maintenance for this medical problem.
