NAVAL, Biliran (BDEO) – “Contractor is availing the good weather condition to speed up the implementation of the road upgrading in the town of Almeria”, OIC-District Engineer (DE) Alfredo L. Bollido reported.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)- Biliran District Engineering Office (DEO) is currently implementing the P50-M road upgrading in Brgy. Poblacion in the town of Almeria that is expected to provide the motorists a wider, safer and convenient travel along the said road section.
The project’s major scope of work involves the construction of a four-lane roadway significantly higher from its original elevation with a length of 0.43-kilometer, construction of retaining wall and cross drainages.
According to OIC-DE Bollido, the said road section is susceptible to flooding during typhoons and heavy rains, thus the need for it to be upgraded/ raised-up from its original elevation.
“With the completion of this project, this road portion will still be accessible to the general public even during flooding on the adjacent areas of the national highway,” said OIC-DE Bollido.
OIC-DE Bollido reported that the said contractor is now fast-tracking the road upgrading along the said road section while the weather is suitable for construction activities.
As of April 30, 2023, the said project has an accomplishment of 85% and with a target completion date on July 02, 2023.
