NAVAL, Biliran (BDEO) – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)- Biliran District Engineering Office (DEO) reports 90% completion of the construction of access road that will connect Sitio Magtaran-an, Brgy. Talustusan in Naval and Brgy. Sampao in the town of Almeria.
OIC-District Engineer (DE) Alfredo L. Bollido, during his project inspection said that the contractor is now smoothly implementing the road concreting that will link Brgy. Talustusan in Naval and Brgy. Sampao in Almeria. This project is funded under FY 2021 Regular Infrastructure Program with an allocation amount of P45-M.

The said project involves the road opening and concreting of approximately 0.900-kilometer two-lane road, construction of stone masonry and drainage structures and application of pavement markings.
According to OIC-DE Bollido, the said project has a target completion date on June 13, 2023.
Meanwhile, another road concreting project has just recently started that will connect the National Road Junction (NRJ) of Brgy. Agpangi to Sitio Pongon also in the said Barangay under CY 2023 funding. This project has an allocation amount of P40-M which involves the road opening and concreting of a two-lane road with a length of 0.69-kilometer.
Engr. Rosario B. Rosete, Chief Planning Engineer of Biliran DEO revealed that the completion of the two projects: construction of access road from NRJ Agpangi to Sitio Pongon in the town of Naval and the construction of access road from Sitio Magtaran-an, Brgy. Talustusan, Naval to Brgy. Sampao in Almeria town is designed to provide a new Circumferential Road, linking Brgy.Agpangi- Brgy.Talustusan-Brgy. Sampao and to other villages in the Province for a faster and safer mobility of people and transport of farm products to the market centers.
