Cabucgayan, Biliran— A laborer who is listed as a Street Level Individual in the drug watch list of the police was apprehended By the Station Drug Enforcement Team of the local police and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of Biliran Provincial Police Office during a buy bust operation about 3:20 in the afternoon on Friday, May 26, in Brgy. Baso here.
The suspect was identified as Gerald Lagaras, a.k.a. “Putok”, 33, single, laborer a resident of Brgy. Pawikan, here. He is listed as a Street Level Individual in the drug watch list of the Biliran Provincial Police Office.
Recovered from the possession of the suspect was one sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu procured by an operative in the amount of P1000. During the conduct of body search in front of Barangay Official and a representative from the National Prosecutors Services, the searching cop recovered from the suspect one pc P1000 bill bearing serial number AB182301 which is a court subscribed money intended for the operation. Further search at the body of the suspect resulted in the recovery of two more sachets containing white crystalline substances still suspected to be shabu placed inside a carton canister colored brown and wrapped with a white paper.
Charges of violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of RA 9165, the Comprehensive Law against Illegal Drugs of 2002 are being readied against the suspect who is temporarily detained at the locked-up cell of Caibiran MPS.
