DPWH-Biliran

NAVAL, Biliran, (BDEO) –The completed construction of Multi-Purpose Building (MPB), Municipal Livelihood Center implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)- Biliran District Engineering Office (DEO), now provides permanent venue for various livelihood trainings in the island Municipality of Maripipi.

DPWH-Biliran DEO has implemented the construction of the said project located at the government center in Brgy. Ermita with an allocated amount of P3-M. This project was realized thru the request of Hon. Joseph C. Caingcoy, Municipal Mayor of Maripipi and was prioritized for funding thru the efforts and dedication of Cong. Gerardo J. Espina Jr., Biliran Lone District Representative.

Recently, about 25 trainees housed the said facility for bread and pastry production initiated by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)-Biliran.

Ms. Melchie Palugar, TESDA Cabucgayan National School of Arts and Trades (CNSAT) Instructor said that the building has provided them a convenient place to conduct their trainings.

“Niadto naa me mga trainings dire sa Maripipi pero adto’ng panahona, wala pa kasi gihatag ang Municipyo nga training center, karon naa na silay venue nga ilang girequest, so maayo ang ilang gihatag sa amo nga accommodation para sa amo’ng training,” said Ms. Palugar.

(Before we have been conducting various trainings here in Maripipi but at that time, we still don’t have a proper training center but because of the request of the local government here, we now have a better accommodation for our trainings).

According to Ms. Palugar, the said building is ventilated and spacious enough to accommodate all its participants.

Meanwhile, Ms. Josie C. Espinosa, trainee of bread and pastry production also expressed her gratefulness for the realization of the said project.

“Bentaha gayud nga naa me training center ba, kay every time naa me training, dili maglisud ang mga trainees sa pagtrabaho. Sauna kay wala pa me training center, bisan asa ra me nga naa’y space, dili pareha karon nga naa gayu’y kaugalingon nga training center,” said Ms. Espinosa.

(It is an advantage that we have a training center here because every time we have training, it is now very convenient. Compared before, we are just conducting our training everywhere depending on the available space/room, unlike now that there is really a training center of our own.)

According to Ms. Espinosa, this new facility will also help them in producing a presentable output for their future business ventures.

“Pasalamat me sa among Mayor- Mayor Caingcoy, kang Cong. Espina ug sa DPWH nga mao’y nakatabang nga mahuman gayud ni siya nga project,” said Ms. Espinosa.

(I am thankful to our Mayor, Mayor Caingcoy, to Cong. Espina and to the DPWH who are the instruments for the completion of this project).
