Biliran, Biliran— Local police arrested a driver and impounded his driven single motorcycle for violation of traffic laws after he was flagged down by local police who conducted a mobile patrol at about 2:45 in the afternoon on Thursday, September 21, in Brgy. San Isidro here.
The violator was identified as Mathew Odullada, legal age, single, driver and a resident of Tigbawan, Leyte, Leyte.
Investigation conducted by the local police disclosed that while the local police was conducting mobile patrol in the town proper, they saw the violator driving a single motorcycle, a Suzuki Raider 125 color black without plate number. When the police asked the driver for his license and the OR/ CR of the motorcycle, he provided nothing prompting the local police to arrest him. The police also found out the Chassis and Engine Numbers of the motorcycle were defaced prompting the police to doubt that the motorcycle was not legally owned.
The police immediately issued a Temporary Operator Permit to the owner and impounded motor vehicle which was subsequently brought to this station prior turn-over to the LTO Naval District Office.
An estimated amount of ₱15, 000 penalty for Failure to carry Driver License, OR/CR) is faced by the driver for violation of R.A. 4136 (Traffic Code of the Philippines).
