DPWH Biliran

NAVAL, Biliran (BDEO) – Flow of traffic along Biliran-Naval road section is expected to improve with the recent completion of the road widening project in Brgy. San Pablo, Naval, Biliran.

The said project, implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)- Biliran District Engineering Office (DEO) has a total allocation of P20-Million under its 2023 funding.

This project involves an addition of a 3.35-meter width extra lane on both sides of the existing Biliran Circumferential Road (BCR) with a total length of 0.510-km. It also includes an ancillary drainage system and additional slope protection structures.

OIC-District Engineer (DE) Irwin L. Antonio said that the project is vital as it is part of the district’s major road infrastructure in going in and out of the Province. Moreover, it is also an integral thoroughfare leading to the sole Biliran Provincial Hospital and the Naval Port, the largest seaport of the Province of Biliran.

Meanwhile, OIC-DE Antonio revealed that under its FY 2024 implementation, Biliran DEO will continue the road widening project from Brgy. San Pablo to Brgy. Caraycaray in Naval with an allocation of P50-Million.

According to OIC-DE Antonio, it is the vision of the district to widen the entire BCR in accordance with the DPWH National Standards.
