The Construction of Road Slope Protection project along Biliran Circumferential Road (Buyo Section) was just completed as of April 30, 2018 along with the other sections. Its realization will preserve the existing concrete pavement subjected to wear and tear of heavy equipment and vehicles.

DPWH-BILIRAN DEO COMPLETES ROAD SLOPE PROTECTION ALONG BILIRAN CIRCUMFERENTIAL ROAD

Ongoing backfilling, utilizing private contractor’s equipment to restore the Caraycaray Bridge after both approaches were washed out by Tropical Depression Urduja on December 15-16, 2017. It was opened to traffic for motorcycles and tricycles on January 9, 2018 and to light vehicles on January 11, 2018.

Above: Completed P8M Off-carriageway Improvement along Naval-Caibiran Cross Country Road (NCCR). The completed project will provide a smooth riding surface for the traveling public as well as provide convenience in transporting agricultural and aquatic products to market centers. This road also leads to the only Provincial Hospital and Port of the Province. The project will benefit more or less 5,000 inhabitants of Barangay Calumpang and employees from Government Units working within the vicinity of the said Barangay.

Biliran geothermal plant could start operation in September 2018

Widening along Naval-Caibiran Cross-Country Road is on-going on the embankment activities and installation of scaffoldings of drainage with an accomplishment of 7% as of March 31, 2017. The projects were prioritized because of its potential for development with the vision to accommodate huge number of road users. The completion of this project will increase the capacity of the existing roads and improves the safety aspect of said sections. This road also leads to the only Provincial Hospital and Port of the Province.

DPWH-BILIRAN DEO STARTS CONSTRUCTION OF CY 2017 REGULAR INFRA PROJECTS

SITE FOR THE REHABILITATION INCLUDING DRAINAGE AND ROAD-RIGHT-OF-WAY (RROW) ACQUISITION ACCESS ROAD LEADING TO NAVAL PORT AT NAVAL, BILIRAN. The above road is an access road leading to Naval Port in Naval, Biliran. It is proposed for rehabilitation with an appropriation of P54.939 Miliion. The road is most of the time congested on the early morning and late afternoon. The proposed project on above road is Rehabilitation of Access Road leading to Naval Port. The projects covers rehabilitation of 2.78 Lane Km. roadway and construction of drainage on some section. At present, preliminary and detailed engineering activities is still on-going.
