The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee has made an "open invitation" to Pangasinan Rep. Jose De Venecia Jr to testify before the panel about his "personal knowledge" on alleged graft and corruption in the government.
De Venecia was unseated as Speaker by 174 members of the House of Representatives, early Tuesday. Before he was ousted, De Venecia delivered a privilege speech linking the Arroyo administration to widespread corruption.
Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, the chairman of the committee, announced his open invitation to De Venecia on Tuesday through radio dzBB.
"I hope Speaker De Venecia will appear before the Senate. Let me use your radio station to make an open invitation. Anytime that you're (De Venecia) willing to appear before the committee, please do, and we will make the arrangement," said Cayetano.
The senator said that like in organized crimes, the witness who has personal knowledge on the crime knows best. "Alam naman natin na sa organized crime, sa lahat ng malalaking kaso, insider ang witness.
remarks:
duh! its a common strategy of politicians!---JDV couldn't simply accept the fact that he was force out from the position he had been clinging for 12 years and so he would resort to exposing the wrongdoings of the GMA administration... pareho pareho lang naman sila diba? like here in the province--- ung mga kampi ng Espina dynasty na ngaun ang naging kampi na ng current administration--ano pa nga ba? for personal interests lang nila ang iniisip nila and not for the people... ngaun si JDV gustong i expose ang baho ng administration --- eh nung una di naman ginawa...hay mga politiko talaga...mga BALIMBING! obvious na ang move ninyo noh!...
