Last June 13 & 14 the City Government of Ormoc held their 4th Mayor's Cup Shooting Competition in Camp Downes Shooting Range. During the two-day competition one observer wasn't good enough to hide his disappointment, frustration about the poor shooting performance of the Police.

Just a couple of hours ago, i had a chance to have a friendly chat with a Lady Range Officer from Biliran Gun Club during a funshoot held in Ormoc Gun Club, according to her, the Provincial Director of Biliran held a shootfest at the Biliran Gun Club Shooting Range, and if not most, all of those Policemen can't shoot straight. Tsk! Tsk! Tsk!

How could these Policemen go after bad elements who were also armed when they can't shoot straight? No wonder the policemen who were caught in the ABS-CBN video shoot suspects in point-blank range because they can't hit targets a few meters away.

If my memory serves me right, when Vice-Mayor Mike Torrevillas was still the Mayor of Matag-ob, Leyte, he set aside a fund and used that fund for training and practice shooting of his police force. Can't our Mayors, Governor, Congressman and PNP Provincial Director do the same?

Well, kung gusto may paraan, kung ayaw maraming dahilan.
