In Feb 26, 2008 issue of Inquirer, Belinda Olivares-Cunanan said that Sen. Jamby Madrigal's "manners are worse than thosee of the least educated jeepney drivers".

Cunanan should open her eyes. Studying in big, famous and expensive schools, universities or collages is not a guarantee that people will not be corrupted by power. Simple people like the drivers, street vendors and Mang Pandoy or Juan de la Cruz behave in a more educated manner than the most of our politicians do, including thee current crop of officials headed by the "No. 1 of them all" who is residing in Malacanang now.

For how else can you believe that an economist, who counted among her classmates a former US President when she was studying in a excellent university, after having been told that a project was overpriced, still went on to allow the signing of the flawed contract?

Why is it that this government exerts all efforts to prevent people from speaking before a constitutional body of inquiry, and wantonly use "executive privilege" even to cover-up criminal acts? Where is Garci and Bolante now? And what do we expect from a "tuta" Sandigan Bayan? The senate is not just a creature from nowhere! It is a constitutional body which has a constitutional duty to perform. Why should the executive branch not follow what the constitution provides?

This country has never been united ever since from the time of Aguinaldo and Bonifacio. And this will remain not united for so long as their are leaders who play fools of the people. A leader who lies blatantly before the people. Yes, we maybe all liars. But at least many of us have delicadiza in lying. It becomes more disheartening when it is the highest official of the land who lies to the people. Remember how she promised before the statue of our national hero Dr. Jose Rizal? That is only one example of her lie.

Hey! Dont be too naive! If the Senate didnt made the inquiries, how would we know of the anomalies? Who would tell the people that there was indeed an anomaly going on? Waste of time huh?

Are you going to file charges before the Ombudsman when you know that the Ombudsman was a classmate of FG? A case had been filed before the Ombudsman and it took 5 months before the Ombudsman started looking into the case, with this kind of pace, do you expect justice? Will the ordinary citizen be informed of these events if these were filed with the Ombudsman?

Who is not corrupt? C'mon! Are you losing hope with your countrymen? Marami pa pong hindi corrupt na mamamayan ang bansa natin. But first thing first, lets be united to bring Gloria down and put our faith in God that He will annoint somebody, not a politician of course, to lead this country to greatness.

By the way Beyond, with the Senate's waste of time doing these inquiries, why is it GMA is going after witnesses, not accused? No evidence?

But they cannot handle this case they are part of the legislative body of the government, this case if thier is probable cause must be handle by the judiciary....

That's right, the Senate is not a judicial body, hence it has no right to judge the President. In fact, it never did attempt to judge the President. A Senate inquiry is intended to aid in the making of laws, including laws that may prevent if not lessen, or as what Neri said, moderate corruption in government. Inquiry is necessary so that the Senate would know how officials do their thing and so make laws that would prevent them from doing them. That is a constitutional function of the Senate.

But what is the executive branch doing about this function of the Senate? The executive department go after witnesses to help them hide away from the inquiry. Evidences are very strong for the people to establish the fact that many officials of the executive branch are guilty of the crimes they are accused of.

Yes, we don't need people power now! But let us at least make them aware that they have not succeeded in fooling all the people all the time. And let the people be aware that their intelligence is being played fools by some of their leaders....

The prime basic role of senate is to check and balance. Only the Judiciary branch has the authority to say who is who in legal means.

There are revelations that were kept for the sake of national security. There are issues which are kept from the media for the sake not to interrupt ongoing operations or investigations. It is a case to case situation. So it is for the masses to understand and balance every scenario. We don't need to be panic or to be uneasy on the situations. The bible mentioned all these uncertainties but it will going to pass. Lets pray and have strong convection that everything will be back to normal. As I said in the previous forum, what happened now in our country is like a cancer. Curing the cancer alone will not make you completely heal, determine the root cause, uproot it and cure the whole system.
