Officials and residents of a remote town in Samar are finding no use for a new 54 million worth of bridge for simple reason - there's no road in the town that lead to the bridge. Two months after GMA inaugurated the brdge leading to Matuguinao, Samar, town residents and officials said they're not likely to benefit from the project. The Mayor, Carlos dela Cruz said the town would not benefit from the 72m concrete bridge if the 18 kilometer road in his town remains a "trail".
Tsk. Tsk. Is this some kind of a joke from GMA's government? Building useless bridge with out a road leading to it?

Useless ba ang maong bridge? I can not tell kay wa man ko kasuheto sa kahimtang. Pero kung tinuod nang wala diay kalsada nga mokonektar sa maong bridge, matawag na nato nga "the bridge that leads to nowhere".

Pero, di naku i-blame si PGMA. Wala man pud siguro siya kasuroy diha dapita prior to the inauguration. Ang akong pangutan-on ang DPWH. Nganong gi-pursue man nila ni nga project? Naa ba ni maayo nga ROI? Dili ba expert sila anang mapping?

In fairness, basin naa gyud silay development plan sa lugar. Building the bridge, and farming the land would be a very viable development effort.

So ayaw kaayo kabalaka sa bridge. Asa man ka mangita ug Presidente nga magtukod ug tulay sa lugar nga way sumpay nga kalsada?

    Pastilan!

Lets be friendly towards one another.

Ive done a little research about it and found the article at http://www.topix.com/world/philippin...s-p54-m-bridge

I don't know what was the reason of having a bridge without roads connecting to it. But I guess the reasons are: the allocated budget is for the bridge only, roads are not included; the administration wan'ts the LGU to take care of it; GMA just want to fullfil her promise.

Either way, roads should be built with the bridge. Because trails is just a temporary means of transportation access.

m1911a2, mura man ka ug very defensive sa imo original post. Unya dayon ko nimo gilabukan by saying that I was "making comment without comprehending."

Kana diayng phrase nga "prior to the inauguration" nga naa sa first line sa second paragraph, sentence number two.

    Asussss lisud na pod i-comprehend.

OH yeah! Were you able to comprehend what my post is saying?

For the argument's sake, if you were the Gloria who inaugurated the said bridge, will you not wonder where is the road that leads to the bridge? If she is truly a hands-on leader as she used to claim, she should know the condition of the area, dont tell me she wasnt briefed by her "sulsultant". I dont think she has to "suroy" to the place "prior to the inauguration" just for her to find out if there are roads leading to the bridge. Binata ra kaayo na.

Come on you people, dont you find it ridiculous? This government is building a bridge with just a trail leading to it?

Me defensive? From what would i be defensive about? Or maybe you mean am offensive. Make up your mind!!! Ts this you mean by high grades in reading comprehension? hahahaha!

After Marcos, this is the only Government who is bent in fooling the people, robbing the people. A scam laden government indeed.

Tsk. Tsk. Tsk! Sad to say, there were people who just stay passive, they even praise what Gloria has done to the country.

Politicians get no mercy, not that they deserve any! If they built a road first, many woulld say "what good is a road there is no bridge"!!
