    TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING: TROPICAL STORM “#QuintaPH”
    ISSUED AT 5:00 AM, 26 DECEMBER 2012
    (Valid for broadcast until the next bulletin to be issued at 11AM today)


    TROPICAL STORM “QUINTA” HAS SLIGHTLY WEAKENED AFTER MAKING LANDFALL AND IS NOW TRAVERSING CAMOTES ISLAND.


    Location of eye/center: At 4:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Storm “QUINTA” was estimated based on all available data in the vicinity of Pacijan Island, Cebu. (10.7°N, 124.3°E).


    STRENGTH: Maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.


    MOVEMENT: Forecast to move West at 20 kph.


    FORECAST POSITIONS: Tropical Storm “QUINTA” is expected to be at 70 km Southwest of Coron, Palawan by tomorrow morning. By Thursday morning, it will be at 460 km Northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).


    PUBLIC STORM WARNING SIGNAL #2:
    (Winds of 61-100 kph is expected within the next 24 hours)


    Luzon: Sorsogon and Masbate including Ticao Island.


    Visayas: Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Western Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Biliran, Bohol, Cebu including Camotes Island and Northern part of Negros Occidental.


    Mindanao: Dinagat Province.


    PUBLIC STORM WARNING SIGNAL #1:
    (Winds of 45-60 kph is expected within the next 36 hours)


    Luzon: Catanduanes,Camarines Sur, Albay, Cuyo Island, Burias Island and Romblon


    Visayas: Aklan, Capiz, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, rest of Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental and Siquijor.


    Mindanao: Camiguin and Surigao Del Norte including Siargao.


    •Estimated rainfall amount is from 10 to 20 mm per hour (heavy - intense) within the 350 km diameter of the storm.
    •Residents living in low lying and mountainous areas under public storm warning signal #2 and #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas under public storm warning signal #2 are alerted against big waves or storm surges generated by this tropical cyclone.
    •Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the seaboards of Luzon and over the eastern seaboard of Visayas and Mindanao.
    The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11AM today.
