Biliran Airport

I'm kind of disappointed with what I just learned today by browsing the net. I was searching about the history of Biliran and so as the towns and barangay in our island. I was able to find only for the Biliran Island itself but no stories or articles with regards to its barangay.

Anyway, my major disappointment is, when I typed "Biliran Airport" in google search engine, and then I clicked on one of the links, it says, " Biliran Airport is located in Naval...bla..bla..bla. No airline flies to this community airport. This airport is classified as feeder airport by Air Transportation Office".

And when I further searched what does feeder airport means, it says, "A feeder airport serves mostly General Aviation (private jets), Cargo Planes,Medical Flights and possibly a smaller commercial airliners to offset the congestion of a nearby large airport".

It is sad for me 'coz I thought the construction of the airport is on going, and that one day, for those who live in Manila or who are working outside Biliran, can actually experience a lot easier and convenient way of going back & forth to our beloved Biliran province since we do not have to travel by air through Tacloban airport anymore.

I am not saying this 'coz I'm a constant air traveler. If I have to travel with lots of luggage, of course I would prefer the bus to avoid paying so much for excess baggage. But then, in an emergency situation or when you only have limited time or few days vacation, an extra hours of trip going to biliran, or to naval or kawayan, from Tacloban airport is quite a waste of time aside from spending more if you have to pay for the van for special trip in cases you arrive late in the afternoon and no more public vehicles available and you really want to go home on that day.

I don't know, it is just my opinion. I'm not sure whether other Biliranons have the same sentiments like mine with regards to this matter.

I am just saying that, how relief it would be for us if we could also have our own Domestic Airport. Maybe, those people on the seats, can actually think about of pursuing it since not just convenient it could bring to us but also more opportunities for businesses and jobs.

Airport in Biliran? I'd say do not waste your energy dreaming, the airport would not materialize in the next 20 years. Its not the priority of the Chong's and the Espina's. The politicians are more keen on enriching themselves with the people's money.

pag mahuman na siguro ug cemento ang Circumferential Road sa Biliran. pwede na ma develop ang airport..

I'd say don't bet on it. I admit i was a sucker when i put my trust on Glen Chong, i thought he was true and man enough when he said that he'll complete the circumferential road, nanganti pa gani nga magpabato siya kung di niya mahuman. Glen Chong and the Espinas were all just the same, again they are more keen on expanding their respective political dynasty. Biliran airport? Its not their priority.

Atung hatagan ug higayon si Congressman Roger Espina ug si Gov. Gerry Boy Espina.. kung unsa ilang mabuhat sa ilang term.. Dili man sad natu ikalimod na pag abot sa mga Espina sa Naval, ning boom ang Naval ug daghan kalambuan sa Biliran ug dili sad natu ikalimud na daghan pod maayo na buhat si Former Congressman Chong sa iyang mubo na termino..

Dili ni problema sa ilang duha.. problema ni sa atung system sa politika.. =)

Don't be naive! Give the Espinas a chance? The Espinas lord Biliran for how many years? These politicians knew the political system that's why their more keen on expanding their respective dynasties. They knew the political system that their taking advantage of it to enrich themselves rather than do what a real public servant should do.
