Marlon Mecaral, administrator of biliranisland.com informed that the crash site for the reported private plane that crashed in the mountain barangay of Naval early this morning was not located yet. Mayor Susan Parilla, & Vice-Mayor Redentor Villordon of Naval, PDRRMC personnel, ambulances, and firetrucks are in the vicinity of the believed site for immediate relief. (MLT)

As of reporting time, though not confirmed yet, the priv. plane believed to have crashed in the hinterlands of Brgy. Imelda, Naval, Biliran between 5am and 6am today, has not been found yet. A team org. jointly by Gov. Gerryboy Espina and Naval Mayor Susan Parilla tried to penetrate to the crash site but failed because of the thick vegetation.


In an interview with Mayor Susan Parilla at the Command Center set up temporarily in Brgy. Imelda, Naval, Biliran,the unconfirmed crash site of a private plane, their team will pass through Sitio Anislag in Brgy. Capinahan, Naval to locate the private plane. She said, it is easier to pass through this route. (fj)

Gov. Gerryboy Espina, in an interview with PIA said that he requested a chopper from the PNP/PAF in Tacloban to help trace the private plane believed to have crashed in the hinterlands of Brgy. Imelda, Naval. He informed that the chopper in Tacloban is under repair, so, he made another request from PAF Cebu.Hopefully, the chopper is expected to arrive this afternoon. (fj)

After an hour of aerial search by 2 teams aboard two choppers from the AFP VisCom as reqsted by Gov. Gerryboy to assist in finding the exact location of an unconfirmed plane crash in the mountains of Brgy. Imelda, Naval, Biliran early this morning, the result was neg. Accdg to Sofronio Dacillo of the Biliran DRRMC who joined in the aerial search, no plane crash was noted in the area.(fj)

The 2 AFP choppers immediately left Brgy. Imelda, Naval after the members of the search and rescue teams from the Biliran PDRRMC, the Naval MDRRMC and the media found the air accident negative. The search which started at about a little past two today, lasted for an hour and ended at 3:15pm. (fj)

Mr. Sofronio Dacillo of Biliran PDRRMC who was present during the briefing held at the Command Center in Brgy. Imelda said that for easy communication between the mountaineers at the search area and the persons manning the command center, the two groups must be provided with hand-held radios since there is no signal either of Globe or Smart in the said barangay.

Mountaineers from the Red Cross Search & Rescue Team led by Arsenieto Culaba of Tac. City, LGU-Naval led by Atty. Lydino Opena, from the BFP, Biliran Geothermal Inc and from Brgy. Imelda, Naval immediately left at 3pm to the alleged crash site. The team of 27 members will stay overnight in the mountains of Brgy. Ambulances of the Biliran Provincial Hosp. and from the Naval Mun. Health Office together with the PNP Patrol cars are stationed at the command center in Brgy. Imelda this time to respond to the needs of the search and rescue team and the mountaineers who are now in the forests of said barangay. PNP-Biliran Prov'l Office led by PSSupt Felix Diloy is in full force to secure the area. (fj)

Despite cloudy weather with thick rain clouds here in Naval, the mountaineers continue to scour the thick forest of Brgy. Imelda, Naval where a private plane allegedly crashed early morning yesterday, Sept. 10. As of now, personnel manning the command center in said barangay led by Sofronio Dacillo of the Biliran PDRRMC are awaiting results of the local search & rescue operations.(fj)

The search and rescue operations conducted by a team of mountaineers of LGU-Naval, Red Cross in Tacloban City, Biliran Geothermal Inc. (BGI)and from Brgy. Imelda, Naval was formally called off at 12:00 noon today after the team failed to locate the plane that allegedly crashed in the mountains of Brgy. Imelda, said Naval Vice Mayor Redentor Villordon. DPWH Biliran Dist. Eng,g Office (BDEO) reported that the concrete paving of the portion of the Biliran Circumferential road which is the Acaban-Bool section in Culaba, Biliran is 100% completed as of May 18, 2013, said Engr. David Adongay, Jr, District Engr. of the BDEO. He informed that the concrete paving of existing gravel road was started in Feb. 7, 2013 costing some P17 million. (fj)

The rehab. of the Bagongbong Bridge, one of the major bridges loc. in Almeria town in Biliran prov. along the Biliran circumf. road is on-going, Engr. David Adongay, Dist Engr of Biliran Dist. Eng'g Off. informed. He said the scope of work incl. the repair of steel girder (G-1) on Span 2 and reconstr. of both apprch slab with concr. reinf., appl. of asph. overlay. It's 82% complete. (fj)

Some 35 members of the Biliran Medical Society (BMS) through its newly-elected President, Dr. Gabino Velasquez III will hold free medical consultation on Sept. 26 at the municial health office (MHO) in line with the 153rd Naval Pueblo Day. The Biliran Police Prov'l Office (BPPO) thru PSSupt. Felix Alberca Diloy, Prov'l Director reminds anew applicants of the Cadet Admission Test to the Phil. Nat'l Police Academy (PNPA) that deadline of submission of appl. forms is on Sat, Sept. 28. Appl. forms are available at the BPPO and in the eight mun. police stations in Biliran. Lorna C.Jadulco,Biliran prov'l rabies control prog.coor.,informed that the number of dog bite cases in human in Biliran prov.from Jan-June 2013 is now at 311 based on the prov'l report on animal bite/human rabies cases.Jadulco said that the figure is higher by 100 cases compared to 211 cases covering the same period of last year.90% of the cases came from astray dogs,she said. Jerry Enriquez,Naval MLGOO,suggested the passage of an ord. in the 132 brgys in Biliran prov.for the establishment of impounding cell for astray dogs.He said this will at least minimize if not eliminate the number of dog bite cases and prevent the loss of lives and properties due to motorcycle road accidents brought by astray dogs.This will also help sustain a rabies-free prov,he said.(rsv)
