when skies were clear
crisp clean air
Replaced with smoke emmisions from motor vehicles...

Gone were the days...
children playing in streets
sublime and tranquil atmophere
Replaced with raging and racing conveyance...

Gone were the days...
wild frolicking in the beach
prestine and immaculate
Replaced with mushrooming shanties and sewerage outlets...

Gone were the days...
water aplenty
faucets bursting with so much preassure
Replaced with scanty and dry faucets....

Gone were the days...
nights peaceful and hushed
crickets and night creatures chirps
Replaced with loud vocal karaoke singing...

Gone were the days...
bayanihan and close family ties
caring and sharing for the whole community
Replaced with strangers aplenty...

Gone were the days...
the Naval of my youth
an ideal and wholesome locality
Replaced with so called development some gone astray....

Gone were the days...
elected governing officials
community and welfare primary concern
Replaced with bickering and squabbles....

Gone were the days.....
Oh...how i wish the old and new could coexist without destroying our beloved Naval and creating a generation of fruitful, God fearing and nature loving citizenry..
