Calumpang. Named after a tree which was either a landmark or a boundary marker, or both, of this place. Kalumpang (Sterculia foetida) is a medium-sized deciduous tree with spreading branches that grows to 20 meters in height [http://manilaoldtimer.net/Trees of Alabang Hills/kalumpang.html]. This barangay is the location of the Provincial Capitol and provincial government offices of Biliran.
It has a population of 5,121 (2010 Census).
