Mr. Ben Granali

IN MEMORIAM. Mr. Ben Granali passed away at age 87 on Good Friday, April 18, 2014. He was my intellectual father. As a child, I learned to play chess from him and he was my first close up example of a published poet and writer. When I had become a writer and community journalist myself, both of us were involved in research and publication efforts with like-minded fellows to found a local newspaper, "The Biliran Clarion," in 1986, to serve as think-thank in the campaign for the provincehood of Biliran from 1986 to 1992, to update the history of Naval, and to promote local legislation that started the annual observance of the Naval Pueblo Day.
