DWINDLING FISH CATCH MITIGATION PROJECT.Biliran Gov.Rogelio J.Espina(left)monitors the progress of the construction of a mud crab farm on a mangrove forest in Barangay Sangalang,Biliran,Biliran.The farm will be operated by the Sangalang Mangrove Fisherfolk Association,which was provided by the provincial government with a loan for P300,000.The group,the third to engage in aqua-silvi or mud crab farming in Biliran Province,is also into mangrove reforestation and oyster and mussel farming.The projects aims to cushion the impact on fisher folk of dwindling fish catch brougth by overfishing and illegal fishing.
