For the third time the administrator of www.biliranisland.com has once again share his blessing to our least fortunate brothers and sisters….and for the first time it has collaborated with Noel Pla the project coordinator of ADOPT a Child Trust Fund (ACTF). The beneficiaries of the bundles of joy were the organized elementary pupils of Buyo, Bilwang, Masagaosao, and Burabod Elemenatry School respectively, located at the Municipality of Kawayan northern part of Biliran Province. These schools were the beneficiaries of ACTF.

The activity was set on the 27th of Dec. 2008, at around 10:00 am the team headed to the said municipality. The volunteers of www.biliranisland.com were enthusiastic as they travel bound to Kawayan. It is very obvious in their faces that they are not just excited, they are happy too to be part of the activity.

The first stop was Masagasao Elementary School, the volunteers unloaded their stuff and headed to the school. A brief talk given by Mr. Noel Pla of ACTF and Mr. Kristin Ceniza spokesperson of the site after which they started giving their bundles of joy which contains rice, can goods, noodles, paper, pencil, pen, crayons, toothbrush, and toothpaste.

Though the gifts were not that luxurious yet it proved to be of great help to the beneficiaries as seen trough their faces, the smiles, the laughter, and the simple “daghan kaayong salamat sa inyong tanan” which touches the hearts of the volunteers.

The team was very much thankful also for the generosity of the people and teachers of Masagaosao for the sumptuous lunch offered by them. The “sinugbang isda, tinolang manok, adobo, were very much appreciated by the volunteers as the feasted on their meal, almost forgetting that there are still others who have not eaten.

After thanking each other the team headed to their next destination. They headed to Bilwang at 1:00, Burabod at 2:00 and Buyo at three o`clock in the afternoon. Once again it has been proved that the act of giving and sharing is what matters most and not the worth of the gift given. The simple bundle of joy that was distributed enabled the children to smile and laugh as each of them receives the gift. Their little voices of thanks make also the volunteers to beam.

Distribution at Buyo…

After the activity it is imprinted in the faces of the volunteers that they are exhausted, but the drained bodies were back to normal as the sponsor of www.biliranisland.com, Ms. Feleche de Luna offered a cold beer to quench their thirst.

The BiliranIsland.com administrator, staff, volunteers, Mr. Pla of ACTF, was very much thankful for the continued support of the sponsors of this activity.

The activity was sponsored by: ACTF Sponsors, Miss Europa, Camille Borington, Vergie Adobo, Lester Simon, Ading Mecaral, Paul Casas, Michael Caneja, Nilo Cahambing, Cynthia Narrido, John Pastor, Judith Kho.
