In an interview with BiliranIsland.com, the suspect denied that he was involved in the killing of Simon Rawlinson. He claimed he was just in his house, gathering nipa leaves and making thatches. He added that he is a police intel asset, and that the suspected shabu was not his, since he does not smoke.

The CCTV footage of LGU Naval on the shooting and killing of Simon Rawlinson led to the arrest of the alleged lookout and alleged gunman.

We cut from the video the portion of the actual shooting due to graphic content.

  1. So many murders of foreigners in Biliran… I will not visit there any more an advise all my American friends, UK, NZ and all foreigners not to go there, it is not safe, where are the police? Mr. Mayor and Mr. Governor? Hello are you there?

  2. Here we go again. This time a NZ citizen. That’s three foreigners murdered in 13 months. All killed with gunshots from two people on motor cycles. Henk Nuijts killers are still on the run. Gene Abrams ‘alleged’ killer has been caught, but those who planned the murders still go free. The local PNP can only do so much, so its time to bring in the NBI to settle the arrests of all involved. THEN, maybe they will STOP when they also get arrested. It seems like a ‘copy cat’ of Henk Nuijts killing is now taken on by others.

  3. Saan na mga kapulisan at LGU…. authorities?
Justice must be served….at all cost…Masisira napakagandang lugar natin sa Biliran sa mga Turista….matatakot na sayang lang kikitain ng Kumonidad kong mawalan na ng tiwala pati mga lokal na mamamayan….kamay na bakal like our Beloved President Duterte….

    • the foreigners offered in the meantime a reward to find henk nuijts killer. much higher than now the mayors bounty in the case of simon rawlinson. maybe governour and mayorespina will offer in all cases a reward

  4. Serve Justice ASAP….para di katakutan Biliran na pasyalan ng mga Torista…sayang kikitain ng Kumonidad kung kinakatakutan ang napakagandang lugar natin…. please PNP/ LGU authorities…. speed it up….

  5. Just heard they got the alleged gunman who killed Simon this morning in Kawayan. Great work PNP. Now to get all those who were involved in Gene and Henk’s murders! They can run, but they cant hide forever!

  6. It sure is nice to hear that the PNP went and arrested the alleged killer before he was sent an Affidavit telling him he was a suspect, as was done with Henk Nuijts killers so they can go on the run, but not with Gene’s killers also. So much for the two systems of law here.

  7. Think it,s the same with Henk and Gene Abrams, they are involved in land disputes. The “landlords” selling their land, but don,t like to give it away! Before, to his tenants, the landlord can sell the land 2,3,10 times.. The “simple” Philippino made no cases! But now,we the foreigners, helping this human, our families, to get their rights. Now WE are the troublemakers!

  8. I wont be shock since most of the people whom I happened to know living somewhere in Biliran were war freaked and untrustworthy. #notallbutsome #truthhurts

  9. Do we have any ‘updates’ of any arrests or court appearances of those accused of Henk Nuijts, Gene Abrams, and Simon Rawlinson’s murders yet? If not, it doesn’t seem the law or Politicians in Biliran Province care what happens to these good people who did so much good while they were here with us. If it happened in their countries all involved would be in the jails now, instead of living off of what they provided to those who planned and carried out their murders. How can they sleep at night knowing what they did to these innocent men? May they all rot in hell!
