Mapuyo, Kawayan, Biliran – A Mapuyo resident died due to a stabbing incident caused by a drunken dispute.
On December 18, 2018, the Kawayan PNP Personnel responded to a crime reported in Brgy. Mapuyo, Kawayan. The police found the lifeless body of 58-year-old fisherman, Zosimo Daria Coma.
According to the initial investigation, Coma had been drinking together with his brother-in- law, Allan Villato, and his nephew, Ryan Espiritu, when arguments arose. The latter allegedly struck Coma with a slab of wood in the head while Villato was seen holding a “bolo” near the victim’s body.
Coma sustained one stab wound in the throat, resulting in spontaneous death. His body was sent to the Biliran Provincial Hospital for post-mortem investigation.
The suspects and the evidences recovered are in the custody of the PNP Kawayan.
A case for murder was filed before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor for inquest proceedings. – BiliranIsland.com
