I was away from home to my native land Biliran when the inhumane killing of Dr. Ramirez happened. The astounding news was unbelievable but a confirmation of my friend who was also a neighbor of the late Dr. confirmed to me about the incident. I was sad then. I could not imagine that a real public servant became a victim of a brutal crime. I know she has the heart whose always willing to serve the needy. But, why did she end that way? So, I doubt if the prime motive of the suspect’s was really killing or the money?
Like anybody else, I want to know the truth. The case of the late Joe Sabonsolin? The massacre in Atipolo? The robbery/murder in BILECO? The robbery/hold up of the Vietnamese? The rape/murder in Balaquid? The illegal drugs, illegal loggers and illegal fishers ? And the usual incident of having robbery/hold up in CROSSCOUNTRY Caibiran Biliran? Why is it that until now these maladies has been occuring over and over again. I’m afraid my relatives might be the next victims. So, I am calling to our Policemen and Province Officials to please get focus to these crimes to be resolved.
As I look at the other side of the coin, I came to realize that until now a large percentage of Biliran’s population is below the line of poverty. Low wage of labor plus high price of the commodities. Perhaps, this aspect is the one we should get focus on because I believe this is the reason why crime cases in Biliran is continually rising. So, we call on our leaders to please help us with this…
