MANILA (UPDATED) – A yacht owned by the brother of Leyte 1st District Representative Martin Romualdez caught fire on the waters of Barangay Verginia, Culaba, Biliran on Wednesday.

All nine crew members were rescued from the burning ship and then brought to the Culaba Rural Health Unit.

The MV Lubenico, owned by businessman Philip Romualdez, was sailing from Tacloban to Manila when the incident occurred. It was reported to be carrying fuel.

It left Tacloban at 7 a.m. and sent a distress call at 12:40 p.m.
