BILECO
Naval, Biliran- Biliran Electric Cooperative Inc. (BILECO) conducted its annual Energy Forum today, January 31 at Fragoch Tourist Inn, Naval, Biliran.
Said forum was initiated to inform its local partners such as the local government units (LGUs), government agencies, big load consumers, and other stakeholders within its franchise area on the directions, plans and programs of BILECO for the coming years.
GM Gerardo Oledan, during his discussion presented the impacts of typhoon Ursula and accounted the damages incurred which cost more than 33-M worth of damages to its power distribution lines.
Emergency restoration plan in times of disasters was also presented by Technical Services Department (TSD) Manager Carlitus Casinillo.
TSDM Casinillo detailed the restoration process after the onslaught of typhoon Ursula in the province of Biliran where he emphasized the efforts made by this electric cooperative to restore power immediately particularly primary and backbone lines.
On the other hand, the management, through Member Development Officer (MDO) Ann-Marie Meracap notified its local partners regarding the Member- Consumer-Owner Program for Empowerment (MCOPE) in support to the One EC-MCO Movement Advocacy of the National Electrification Administration (NEA).
BILECO was the first to organize its MCOPE in the entire Eastern Visayas after it has completed the organization of all 117 barangays last September 2019.
Meanwhile, GM Oledan also announced the proposed ‘Pailaw sa bahay para sa magandang buhay’ program to be implemented by BILECO which aims to uplift the lives of its MCOs through the provision of electricity.
This year’s energy forum was also attended by SP Member and Chairman of Energy Committee, Hon. Charlie Chan, Hon. Mayor Richard Jaguros of Almeria and BOD President Director Reynaldo Rostata of BILECO.
With optimism, the management through the leadership of GM Oledan and its board of directors assured its local partners that they will continue the developments in the electrification programs for the betterment and the benefit of its member-consumer owners in the province of Biliran.
