NAVAL, Biliran, (BDEO) – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)- Biliran District Engineering Office (DEO) is working on the Php50-Million road widening project along Brgy. San Pablo – Brgy. Caraycaray in Naval to accommodate a huge number of road users.
OIC-District Engineer (DE) Irwin L. Antonio reported that the said project is now 80% completed. This project along Biliran-Naval road section under FY 2024 implementation involves the concreting of additional lanes on both sides of the existing Biliran Circumferential Road (BCR) with a total length of 2.398 lane km including drainage and slope protection features.
“The completion of this project is expected to spur economic growth, not only in Naval being the capital town but of the entire Province of Biliran, attracting more investment and employment opportunities to the Biliranons,” said OIC-DE Antonio.
The Biliran-Naval Road section along BCR is vital as it is part of the district’s major road infrastructure in going to and from Leyte.
