NAVAL, Biliran – Nobody expected that a graduate of a barangay high school in one of the towns of Biliran province will be among the topnotchers in the recent CPA board examination.
Marcia Pilapil Butastas ranked 10th in the exam with a rating of 89.33 percent.
Marcia Pilapil Butastas, 21 years old, graduated at Tabunan National High School in Almeria , Biliran on 2012.
Butastas graduated as Magna Cum Laude at the University of San Carlos, Cebu City with the degree in Bachelor of Science in Accountancy.
“I did not expect to land in top 10,” Marcia said because she was bothered by her health condition at the time she took the board exam. It was prayer to God and smart studying which served as my armor in taking the CPA board exam.
Marcia, who is the daughter of Raul Butastas and Elsa Pilapil, advised those who aspire to become topnotchers to believe in God and in themselves.
“Always seek for the reasons of what you have struggled and not to lose sight of one’s goal, ” Butastas further said to a spring topnotchers.
The PRC announced that 4,511 out of 14,816 passed the exams given by the Board of Accountancy in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi Lucena, Tacloban and Tuguegarao last October 2017.
