Pumpboat sinks in Naval, Biliran

Updated. Half submerged motor banca off the coast of Naval rescued

NAVAL, Biliran – A motorboat capsized near the shore of Naval around 4 o’clock in the afternoon, with no casualty reported.

With the quick response of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), three passengers were rescued safely. The two passengers were identified as Rein Bautista, 26, and Reynaldo Ramonela, 69, both from Brgy. Caneja, Calubian, Leyte and Jaime Garin (Bangkero).

The owner of the boat is Maria Fe Paca of Brgy. Caneja, Calubian Leyte.

According to Atty. Raymundo Espina, Mayor Gerard Roger Espina instructed them to give financial assistance to the victims. They are undergoing stress-debriefing with the NAVRU. Meanwhile, local officials are commending the quick response of PCG and NAVRU towards the incident

    Ama ni Ezrain si Reynaldo.
    Ezrain is a Manager of Jollibbee in one branch in Cebu.
